Re: 2020 General Chat and Check in

Met the new Cook on Friday, a nice guy with a lot of cooking experience and seems like a good fit at the moment. We're back to the schedule we had pre cook quitting so I only work 3 days this week, Yesterday, Thursday and Friday. Next week I work Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Yesterday was once again a busy one, loads of Take out and people coming in, we actually ran out of Chicken this week.

Nothing really planned for the next couple days, so I'll see what comes up. Just watched some TV today, the Smithsonian channel is back for a free preview again and they always have good stuff to watch. Tomorrow will be more of the same though I am expecting some packages, a Crisis of Infinfate Earths graphic novel and a couple Game of Thrones things

GOOD TUESDAY, Aug 4th MY FRIENDS!

Gorgeous day, not "quite" as hot. It's only 72 F right now, but climbing fast....should top out at 95F. I have all the windows open right now and it feels and smells great!🌞
Had a decent night sleep, considering my leg was throbbing like a toothache!🤣 Knocked it down with a shot of Ten High Whiskey😁....slept super good and hard for about 3 hours then tossed and turned a few more. But feel pretty good anywho.
I am going to try to paint more of the brown slats today, I can do some of it sitting on a stool next to my work area. Not going to push myself much....
So, that is my day...Hoping you all have a Terrific Tuesday!🌈

Ryan....so glad you have a new cook, and I hope he works out....you have a busy enough schedule!

Happy Tuesday, all!

Hope everyone's having a good one. It was a wild morning here with Hurricane Isaias roaring through. They had tornado activity in South Jersey. We didn't have any tornadoes here but we did have a lot of wind and driving rain and there are quite a few trees down in town. Also, a garbage truck took down some power lines in the next block over from me but thank God I didn't lose power! My lights blinked on and off a couple of times but that's as bad as it got. It's still cloudy here but almost no wind and I think the rain has stopped and it has gotten a little brighter, but that's not saying much since it was dark as night during the worst of the storm.

Anyway, other than that I did manage to get the bulletin sent off this morning and I have a job I'm working on for my client, so that's my day.

Enjoy whatever the day brings you, folks, and stay safe if you're in the path of the storm!

Another quiet day here, watched some TV and hung out, it was sunny but in the 60's for a high. Set up Youtube TV, tired of not being able to watch Brewer Games, they have a 14 day free trial so we're giving it a try to see how it goes.

Tomorrow is my Day off, as opposed to not working because we're closed, so nothing really planned so I'll see what comes up.

GOOD WEDNESDAY, Aug.5th MY FRIENDS!

Gonna be a hot one today, 101 at least. Bright sunshine, no clouds and no breeze, and even a bit of humidity....51%, 50 Dew point.🌞
Have to run over to Mom and Dads for a bit to help, then stop by Albertsons for doggy chicken, but then will get on the slat painting once I get back.
So I will see you, once I come back in, after my shower, which will be a lot of fun.....gonna have to wrap plastic wrap around my shin and tape to keep the water off the covering...🙄
Here's hoping you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!🌈

Happy Wednesday, all!

Hope everyone's had a good one. This was one of those days that got away from me. Had to go out to the grocery store this morning...which was an awful task thanks to the heat and the mask...then came home and worked with my sister and niece on Etsy stuff before we all had a long phone conversation with my brother and SIL. They called me a couple of weeks ago and asked if my niece could stay here with me for two weeks to quarantine before she heads to school at Pace University in the City. Unfortunately, Maryland was just put on the quarantine list so she had the choice of being locked in a hotel room for two weeks or staying somewhere safe. I said sure...leaving home for the first time is stressful enough, don't need to make it worse by staying in a strange hotel. So they'll be arriving tomorrow and I'll have a roommate for the next two weeks.

So that's been my day...hope everyone else's was good!

Another quiet day here, just hung out watching some TV and Youtube as normal. Did keep checking my phone everytime it made a sound. The last couple times I had a planned day off I was called in. Enjoying Youtube TV so far, caught NXT and Agents of SHIELD tonight, next week is the series finale and of course I work on Wednesday, thinking we may give Hulu Live a peak next to see how that looks before making our choice.

Tomorrow I go into work at 4 so nothing really planned for the day so I'll see what comes up before I head into work.

GOOD AFTERNOON GANG!

Mom and I had a good shopping trip to Ridley's for our weekly groceries. Then we hit the Dollar General there. Came to her place and gave Dad a haircut.....he REALLY needed one!
Got home, got my stuff unloaded and put away, now relaxing a bit. Don't feel like painting today, so taking that off. Will make Green Chili Enchiladas for dinner...
Cooled off just a tad...only going up to 93 F. Don't see any triple digits out as far as Sept. So I think our HOT Summer is over.

Happy Thursday, all!

Hope everyone's having a good one. It was cloudy today but no rain...at least yet. Still in the upper 80's.

After doing a little straightening up this morning I got to work to get some writing done for my client. Waiting on my brother, SIL and niece to arrive later this evening.

That's about it here...enjoy the rest of your day, folks!

Rogue...I'm thinking of switching to YouTubeTV myself. Cable bill is just WAY out of control so I'm hoping a streaming service will be a good alternative. Let me know how you like it...is it worth the cost?

HI DI HO GANG!

It's been the prettiest weather day here. It's 88 right now, but there is a light breeze and it's nice. Have all the windows wide open, now that I have new screens and screen locks. So nice!
I did get more slat painting, then Mom and Dad stopped by, they had gone out to Purdum's Produce and got me a nice pepper and 6 ears of corn. Love the Summer veggies.💖
But then....on the other hand....I had to take my kitty Ashes to the vet. He's been limping for a couple weeks.....then he did not limp...figured he jumped from to high and bothered a leg, but it got better....then today when it was feeding time, he could barely get down out of the cat condo....he was moving soooo slowly. And then he'd stop and wash his private parts....and walk a few more steps. He ate his lunch just fine.....but I was worried. So called the vet, they had no actual appointments until Monday. But they did not like the sounds of him....so they had me drop him off and they are going to try to do the blood/urine tests, and maybe xray him....in between their other appointments. These folks at Snake River Veterinary Clinic are really great docs and caring staff..
SO...fingers crossed it's like his brother and he just has some crystals in his urine or something like that! And not like Gaia, had to have her put down....She was diagnosed with FIP...Feline Infectious Peritonitis. A deadly, no cure disease...The irony of this disease, it is one of the thousands of varieties of Coronavirus (FECV)...so basically, Gaia died of Coronavirus. A wee smile on that one....🤔 And it is MILDLY contagious...
SO....that is my day! How are you all doing?
Just got a call from the vet regarding Ashes. She said they took x-rays and his kidney's looked fine, but he looked "Constapated"....so they are keeping him overnight, putting him on SubQ fluids, and maybe some CatLax (laxatives)...really moist food, and if he's not gone in the morning, then they may give him an enema. Then we will see in the morning what else if anything needs done.

Sue...do not blame you for leaving cable. I understand a crapload of people are leaving them.
I would like to know about YouTube TV as well.
