I have several doubts on that. I'm surprised they picked Kraven to make a film of, I feel he's a very difficult character to do well, most of his appearances throughout all formats have been between silly and boring.
Sure, "Kraven's Last Hunt" is one my all-time top 3 Spider-Man stories, but mostly not a good character, especially for carrying a whole movie.
(Disclaimer: I haven't read much of this century material, not familiar with how the character has been last decade.)
As for the actor... he's good, but maybe a bit young for Kraven? And while I'm not biggest person to demand more ethnic variety (more often I'm annoyed when actor doesn't match original character, no matter how white that would make the cast), I think Kraven should've been someone more... Central Asian, Siberian, Mongol, something like that.
I do hope they include Chameleon.

Russell Crowe joins Kraven the Hunter, possibly as a member of his family.
I think he would've been good for playing Kraven himself. Maybe he will, you could have Aaron Taylor-Johnson as young Kraven through origin story and then Crowe as the "present day" Kraven.
Or, with mess of a family tree the character has had, make Crowe to be father "original" Kraven and Taylor-Johnson a son "current" Kraven.
I hope one of those is the case, having Crowe and him not being a Kraven would be waste.
