Chiller comes to an end

NBC Universal has announced that the horror-themed network will be shutting down after they struggled to maintain carriage deals with cable providers.

The Network will end operations at the end of 2017, joining Cloo and Esquire which has also shut down this year. They had started in 2007 but lost nearly 30% of its audience in 2016 and had never been a priority. NBCU has been streamlining their vast portfolio and since they also own SyFy which runs similar programming, Chiller was dropped.

A similar reason was behind the end of Esquire as there were other channels like it that it just couldn't support itself.

NBCU also made the move to change Oxygen from a Bravo style channel to a True Crime channel, complete with Dick Wolf shows and NCIS reruns.
