Freeform is getting in on the remaking British Shows bandwagon as they have picked up the pilot for Misfits, inspired by the British series which followed a group of Teenagers who develop powers while in a community service program. The US series will follow the same plot.

Starring in the series will be Ashleigh LaThrop, Tre Hall, Allie MacDonald and Jake Cannavale, the son of Actor Bobby Cannavale.

Victoria “Vic” Mahoney of Grey's Anatomy will be making her pilot directing debut with the series. The pilot is developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire and Diane Ruggiero-Wright, who will write the pilot and showrun the series. All three will also serve as executive producers along with series original creator Howard Overman and Murray Ferguson of Clerkenwell Films, who produced the original.

From Deadline:
Lathrop will play Alicia, a spoiled, vapid, middle-class party girl who seems to have three main goals in life: have fun, look hot and get guys. Hall plays Curtis, a talented and cocky football player with a promising career ahead of him who is used to everything going his way. MacDonald plays the tough and trashy Kelly, who is street smart with a hair-trigger temper and a penchant for beating the crap out of people. Cannavale plays Nathan, a con artist and thief with a heavily inflated sense of his own attractiveness, intelligence and potential.
