Mulan
Mulan is joining the ranks of Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book, Cinderella and Maleficent and getting a live-action treatment from Disney.
The Film has been fast-tracked for a November 2018 release date which will also be in 3D.
A Spec script was written by Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin and Disney has brought in Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver to polish the script.

Liu Yifei has been cast to play Mulan, Yifei is one of China's most popular actresses right now, fluent in English she grew up in Queens, New York and has appeared in English language films The Forbidden Kingdom and Outcast.

Sony is making a more "historically accurate" version of the story. Same thing that's happened with Jungle Book, the Disney Version, and another studio was doing a more faithful version of the book.

Disney has pushed back Mulan to 2020 from its original Fall 2018 release date. This is not a shocking move as the film has been slow to develop with them only finding their lead in November of last year.

Gong Li has been cast to play the film's villain, described as a powerful witch which is a change from the animated film which had Shan Yu, leader of the Huns as the villain. Also, Jet Li is in final talks to play the Emperor, who orders the conscription of one male from each household.
