Episode 3.09: "Chapter Fifty-Four" Air Date: 2/6


GOOD CHOICES - When Jane (Gina Rodriguez) realizes that she and Michael (Brett Dier) are both stressed out, they decide to recreate their first date to help them relax. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) makes a big scene on the red carpet of his film premiere and his rant goes viral, which leave him to make a choice about the direction of his career. Rafael (Justin Baldoni) wants to set a good example for his children leaving him to make a big decision with the ultimate sacrifice. Meanwhile, Bruce's (guest star Ricardo Chavira) daughter finds herself in trouble leaving Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Bruce's to discuss the future of their relationship. Episode 3.10: "Chapter Fifty-Five" Air Date: 2/13


FIXING THE PROBLEM - Working in publishing is not what Jane (Gina Rodriguez) thought it would be, until she learns about a showcase for up and coming writers. With Petra (Yael Grobglas) helming the Marbella, she decides to rebrand the hotel, but quickly butts heads with the rival hotel next door. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) and Darci (guest star Justina Machado) have made a new arrangement which has put a strain on his relationship with Xo (Andrea Navedo). Meanwhile, Jane and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) try to figure out the best solution to Mateo's behavioral issues and they both seem to have different approaches. Brett Dier and Ivonne Coll also star. MOVING FORWARD - When Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is offered a book deal, she thinks her prayers have been answered and debates quitting her awful publishing job. After suffering from panic attacks, Jane is ready to get to the root of the problem. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) and Xo (Andrea Navedo) are working on fixing their friendship until Xo finds out that Rogelio has been lying to everyone all this time. Petra (Yael Grobglas) is running damage control on the Marbella's reputation after a grisly discovery is found on the property. Meanwhile, Rafael (Justin Baldoni) is ready to be involved again in the Mirabella and his first order of business is finding the perfect person to manage the hotel lounge. FINDING YOUR VOICE - When Jane (Gina Rodriguez) messes up at Mateo's school, Petra (Yael Grobglas) convinces Jane to help with the preschool fundraiser to get in the good graces of the preschool's director. Jane is excited for her first meeting with her editor, but he's definitely not what she expected. Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) girlfriend Abbey (guest star Minka Kelly) suggests moving in together, but Rafael seems a little hesitant and turns to Petra and Jane for advice. Petra is hiding a new relationship, but that's not the only secret she's keeping. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is being sued after quitting his reality show and hires a lawyer to help fix things, but when the lawyer makes things worse he turns to Bruce (guest star Ricardo Chavira) for help. Meanwhile, Bruce asks Jane and Alba (Ivonne Coll) for help in surprising Xo (Andrea Navedo). Brett Dier also stars. Zetna Fuentes directed the episode written by Madeline Hendricks (#313). INSECURE - Jane (Gina Rodriguez) feels guilty that she isn't around for Mateo as much as she would like, so she decides to run for Room Mom against none other than perfect mom, Petra (Yael Grobglas). With the help of Jane and Xo (Andrea Navedo), Alba (Ivonne Coll) tries to impress her crush, but it doesn't go as smoothly as planned. Rafael (Justin Baldoni) tries to be there for both Jane and Petra. Meanwhile, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) tries to slyly get information from Mateo about Xo and Bruce's (guest star Ricardo Chavira) relationship. PUTTING YOURSELF OUT THERE - Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is finally ready to get back in the dating game so she enlists the help of Rafael (Justin Baldoni) and Petra (Yael Grobglas), but it seems they have their own issues to work on. Alba (Ivonne Coll) takes Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Jane's advice about being an independent woman when it comes to Jorge (guest star Alfonso DiLuca). Petra finds out that Chuck (guest star Johnny Messner) has been talking to the police, which could put her in hot water. Meanwhile, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is trying to settle his lawsuit in a hurry so he can start his new telenovela, but it isn't going as smoothly as he hoped. Tyler Posey has signed on to join the cast as a past love interest of Jane's and may have been teased in the March 27 episode where the Narrator stated that Jane has loved three men in her life.

Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is intimidated by his new younger male co-star and begins to wonder if the newbie is trying to sabotage him. Luisa (guest star Yara Martinez) and her girlfriend Eileen (guest star Elisabeth Rohm) are back in town to visit Rafael (Justin Baldoni), but Rafael isn't taking any chances when it comes to safety. Petra (Yael Grobglas) learns some interesting information about Chuck (guest star Johnny Messner). Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) are eager to share their news with Jane, but want to try to take her feelings into consideration. Meanwhile, when Mateo starts asking questions, Jane and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) are forced to sit down with him and explain how their family came to be. Ivonne Coll also stars.
