Indiana Jones reboot
Disney is interested in rebooting the classic Film saga and while this news would usually be met with outrage the news was joined by the news that Guardians of the Galaxy Star Chris Pratt is being eyed to star in the reboot which is being met with some excitement

Sounds as if the reboot title is wrong, the plan appears to be more of a James Bond type of storytelling where the films are stand alones much like the Bond Franchise.

I'm sure it will work if as long as they find the right actor, Chris Pratt could be that guy. I'm sure people thought the same way when Sean Connery didn't return as James Bond.
This had been a plan of Spielberg's as a way to continue making these films.

I would imagine this might work with a younger Indy, at 1920's.

K's got a point...it might work if they did it as a younger Indy, from a time before the original movies. To just recast an adult Indy would not work.
And it's completely different from James Bond, who had been played by a couple of other people on film/radio, etc., before Connery came around and then has been played by quite a few afterward. In Indy you have a character that was created and then played by only ONE person (excluding the boy Indy) and now you're going to just recast him? Sorry...not buying it here.
I'm tired of Hollywood just thinking they can take shows/movies that have already been done, repackage them and sell them to a new audience. For those of us who grew up with the originals that's insulting. As I've said many times, you can not improve on perfection.

I think if they were going to do more Indiana movies, they should have continued from the "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and used Shia LaBeouf who played Henry "Mutt Williams" Jones III, Indiana's sidekick and son.

They wouldn't do that, Mutt was just one of the reasons that film is not a hit among fans of the the franchise. Plus Shia LaBeouf has kind of gone off the rails in recent years

Yes, but THAT role they could have easily re-cast without it causing a problem. Shia LeBeouf hadn't put too much of a stamp on it yet.
I didn't think Crystal Skull was that bad...and it was because of Harrison Ford being in it. As I said, there is only one Indy.
