Elizabeth Taylor
Once considered one of the most beautiful woman in the world, Elizabeth Taylor has died at 79 of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She had entered the hospital 6 weeks ago after a long battle with congestive heart failure. She is survived by her four children and a number of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Her historical career started in the mid 40's when the then 12 year old Taylor appeared in National Velvet and would span more then 50 films, including several classics "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "Butterfield 8." She also played the title role in the most expensive film at it's time, Cleopatra where she took part in one of the most famous affairs in history with Richard Burton, whom she would marry twice. Two of eight marriages. Her first in 1950 at the age of 18 and her last in October of 1991.
Before Angelina Jolie "stole" Brad Pitt from Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Stole Eddie Fisher from Debbie Reynolds and before we had Brangelina we had Taylor and Richard Burton. She may have been one of the first to be known for her life off the screen as she was known for her work on it. Her life had many highs including two Oscar wins but many lows including the death of her third husband in 1958 and addiction to sleeping pills and pain killers. She has been in poor health for most of the last 30 years undergoing at least 20 major operations in her life time. Her later years were known more for supporting such causes as curing HIV/AIDS and Gay rights.
A true Hollywood Icon has left us, may she find the peace in the afterlife that she never seemed to find in her time on Earth.

Re: Elizabeth Taylor
RIP....a true "lady" in every sense of the word. I think all of today celebrities need just a teaspoon of her humility and they'd be better off..
